Tovatt win competition for a urban district in Russia

Tovatt Architects & Planners AB have won an international urban planning competition in St Petersburg. Among the other competitors are West 8 from Holland, Evata from Finland and Busby Perkins + Will from Canada

The site is 450 ha, larger then Kungsholmen in Stockholm. The district will provide homes for 70 000 inhabitants, workplaces, social services and retail. The winning team will according to the current timetable be involved in the further development for the next 10 years
