In brief
Geoff Denton publishes book on Villa Erskine
Geoff Denton has recently published a book on Villa Erskine where Tovatt Architects and planners is presently situated.
Villa Erskine, Drottningholm, Sweden, designed by Ralph Erskine in the early 1960’s, is a listed building of Swedish national heritage.
The listing is the first step in the preservation of the house for future generations. Villa Erskine has matured over some 40 years, with Ralph in close attendance, demonstrating the clear design philosophy of one of the twentieth century’s great architects.
The photographs and texts presented here have been collected by the author over a ten year
period, providing an holistic impression of the building throughout the seasons.
At the same time, the author presents Ralph Erskine’s profound and pragmatic philosophy on
architecture and culture.
