The disused Aspern airfield, situated to the north-east of central of Vienna, gives the city an opportunity for development. A new infrastructure including underground links to the city and ring road high-way systems are planned, together with fast train connections to Bratislava. These infrastructure features give the area great potential. Tovatt Architects & Planners has produced a masterplan for the area which contains some 800 000 m2 residential and 1 100 000m2 commercial, research and development space.
