This old windmill building lies to the North of Central Stockholm. The building has views out over a picturesque rolling landscape. Tovatt Architects were asked to create an extension to the existing building for the clients and their four children. The solution created is a large low-level hipped roof extension. The extension provides a large living area, kitchen, study and bedroom for the parents, while the children’s bedrooms are situated in the existing mill building. The open plan solution encourages contact between all accommodation in both the existing and proposed building volumes. The accommodation is placed around a terrace taking advantage of views over the landscape.
