Moerwijk zuid is a area of Den Haag that is under development. Large parts of the post-war housing is to be demolished and a new city plan is being created according to the masterplan design of Palmboom & van der Bout. Through a number of workshops Tovatt Architects and Planners AB together with the client and Den Haag local authorities have developed one of the masterplans phases. This phase is now being submitted for planning permission.
The first phase of the development includes several building typologies surrounding a raised courtyard with parking under. A mixed tenure of private apartments, rental apartments and terraced housing is provided. The building volumes range from two to twelve storeys high. This varied mixture of building heights provides a human scale in a development of relatively high density. |
