Masterplan ratified in Vienna

This May the Vienna City Council ratified the Tovatt Architects and Planners’ Masterplan for the Aspern Airfield site. The first enterprises are to open premises on the former airfield in 2008, with the first 8,500 new homes scheduled for completion in 2010. The complete development will provide some 800 000 m2 residential and 1 100 000m2 commercial, and research & development space. Together with the city of Vienna and the landowners the work to shape a new urban quarter continues. This new district will be developed in 4 phases over a 25-year period.
